Holiday Hay Drive

Our service fees only cover about 2/3 of our overall costs. The rest comes from generous supporters like you. Feeding & caring for our herd requires careful budgeting, and it’s safe to say that our resources have been strained to the max!

Hay prices: Round bales surged from $85 to $150+ after 2020 and haven’t come down since due to inflation.

Health costs: This year, our equine therapists faced an unprecedented wave of medical expenses:

  • Angel & Apple: $600/each for specialized farrier visits, $350/month for imported drugs from Canada
  • Casper: $3,000 for emergency treatment
  • Charlie: $1,500 for ulcer treatment, $6,000 for a salmonella poisoning emergency vet trip & quarantine
  • Dusty: $1,000 for Cushing’s testing and treatment for digestive issues

It’s like the herd is in cahoots to bust our budget! As we’ve joked… “We need to sage the whole barn!”

We are committed to overcome any challenge that comes our way, because our equines deserve the very best. That’s where you come in. Can you help “bale” us out?

Your donation will ensure:

  • Our herd gets enough high-quality hay for the new year
  • We’re prepared for any medical surprises
  • Our programs continue delivering life-changing services for our clients

December 31st is the final day to make a donation if you want to deduct from this year’s taxes.
